Today we conducted a Socratic Seminar. If you missed class you need to do the following:
Write a 1 page response to the questions (listed below) that were handed out on Friday regarding the United State's decision to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan during WWII.
Essential Questions:

Question 1: What were the
possible alternatives to dropping of the bomb?
What were America’s motives in dropping the atomic bomb? Were these motives justified?

Question 2: Why did the United
States drop the second bomb so soon after the first? Was the use of the atomic bomb necessary to
end the war? Ultimately, did the
decision to use the atomic bomb make the world safer or more dangerous?
